Chania City Bus

Chania City Bus (Chania Urban Bus) serves the city of Chania with thirteen bus routes that cover both the city centre and the surrounding suburbs. The routes are divided into two fare zones – Zone A, which includes areas within the city, and Zone B, which covers more remote neighbourhoods and settlements.

Please note that Chania City Bus does not serve the airport. It operates routes only within the city and to Souda Port.

To or from Chania International Airport (CHQ), you will need to use the KTEL Chania–Rethymno intercity buses.

Where to buy bus tickets?

The main ticket office is in the city centre at 22 Hatzimichali Giannari Street. It operates daily during the summer from 07:00 to 23:00. Here, you can purchase tickets or top up your smart travel card. A second ticket office operates at Souda Port only during ferry arrivals.

Bus tickets are also available from automatic ticket machines, kiosks, and selected shops across the city. You can also buy a ticket on board, but it is more expensive.

Please note that the ticket offices offer the widest variety of ticket types compared to other sales points.

Please also note that while the official Chania City Bus app exists, it has not supported online ticket purchases for quite some time, so it’s best to buy your ticket in advance.
