KAHRAMAN Komboloi & Jewellery – Chania
One of my favourite stops in the heart of Chania is KAHRAMAN Komboloi & Jewelry, located at 77 Apokoronou Street. While the Old Port store is well-known for its rich komboloi collection, this city centre location offers a similar range of komboloi made from rare and traditional materials and an even greater variety of handmade jewellery.
The komboloi (Worry beads) here are crafted from materials such as Kahraman, amber, red Egyptian faturan, mastic, yusuri, wood, bone, horn, and mineral stones—each with its own character and charm.
However, the jewellery collection truly sets this shop apart. Skilled artisans craft many pieces in 925 sterling silver, 14k or 18k gold. At the same time, they create more affordable designs in stainless steel or even without any metal—preserving the gemstones’ natural shape and energy. The collection includes a wide range of women’s and men’s jewellery, offering a beautiful combination of aesthetics and meaning.

There’s a great variety — from simple, everyday pieces to rare and unique designs — all at fair prices. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. He takes the time to explain the materials, the history, and helps you find exactly what suits you. Highly recommended, whether you're a collector or just looking for a meaningful gift.
