KAHRAMAN Komboloi & Jewellery – Chania
One of my favourite stops in the heart of Chania is KAHRAMAN Komboloi & Jewelry, located at 77 Apokoronou Street. While the Old Port store is well-known for its rich komboloi collection, this city centre location offers a similar range of komboloi made from rare and traditional materials and an even greater variety of handmade jewellery.
The komboloi (Worry beads) here are crafted from materials such as Kahraman, amber, red Egyptian faturan, mastic, yusuri, wood, bone, horn, and mineral stones—each with its own character and charm.
However, the jewellery collection truly sets this shop apart. Skilled artisans craft many pieces in 925 sterling silver, 14k or 18k gold. At the same time, they create more affordable designs in stainless steel or even without any metal—preserving the gemstones’ natural shape and energy. The collection includes a wide range of women’s and men’s jewellery, offering a beautiful combination of aesthetics and meaning.

Their kombolois are beautiful and perfectly finished and the attention I receive is always full of patience and delicacy, something I duly appreciate in these times of haste and coarseness. I highly recommend this shop.

11 months agoWOW! What a place for Komboloi lovers… the owners (lovely couple) are absolutely amazing, very informative and approachable. I was always buying my Komboloi’s in Rethymnon but surely this is my new place to go to and can also recommend it to anyone with the above mentioned passion for great quality as well as beautiful look Worry Beads! Bravo! Bravissimo! 👏👏👏

a year agoExceptional service by Mr George Gouverakis!! He helped me alot when picking a gift and he was also very kind and patient! I definitely recommend going to this store if you ever visit Χανιά in Crete. I would recommend his store specifically because of the excellent service! 10/10 for me and I will definitely be buying from him again even though I live in Australia

2 years agoThis is the kindest most customer service oriented store I have ever come across! I feel like they are a warm friend so happy to help you - no matter what the hassle. I hope one day to visit with an in-person thank you! My daughter Amber was abroad for college and visited the store. She bought me beautiful drop Amber earrings from her trip which meant so much to me. I lost one earring only my second time wearing them and was heartbroken. They had so much sentimental value to me. I took a chance and contacted Kahraman to see if I could purchase another. They took the trouble to make a replacement using the picture and dimensions I sent! I really didn’t expect this to be possible - all the way from Greece to the US! They shipped it to me and kept checking to see if I received it. BUT…. Somehow it got lost in customs! Missing for weeks! SO THEY MADE ANOTHER and sent it to me AGAIN! What an amazing amount of effort to get me my matching lost earring! Today I received it - there was a beautiful Amber pendant for me along with the earring. I was teary eyed to think of how kind this wonderful person is to make my day. And a wonderful story of goodwill and kindness to share this holiday season across the globe … thank you Kahraman - I wish all Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year!!!
