Why Fourogatos?
The name refers to a rare wild Cretan cat that survives in the island’s remote wilderness. Known for its resilience and strength, the Fourogatos (Cretan wildcat) symbolises nature’s bond with the Cretan spirit – wild, proud, and enduring.

a week agoTasty food, though we expected a bit more. Mostly traditional dishes with a modern twist – not sure that’s always an advantage. Definitely didn’t like apaki. No house wine, but a nice wine list. We appreciated the complimentary raki and orange pie at the end. Nice sea view. Likely to visit again.

2 weeks agoThis is a truly lovely and traditional spot, situated just a short distance from the sea, which offers wonderful views. The food is exceptionally delicious, expertly prepared, and they also have a good selection of wines to choose from. As a special touch, you'll enjoy complimentary dessert, and of course, a small bottle of raki at the end of the meal.

2 months agoGood food, good local wines. I would recommend grilled squid and other seafood grills. It is not too crawdy, far away from noisy center, near to seaside, perfect to try multiple dishes, one of my favorite in Chania.

2 months agoAn absolutely wonderful dining experience! Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully prepared, with prices that felt more than fair for the exceptional quality. The appetizers were a delight — the feta, tzatziki and all the appetizers we tried were fresh and delicious, and the seafood was outstanding. The atmosphere of the restaurant is stunning, easily one of the most charming places I’ve visited. What made it even more special was the warm, attentive service from the entire team. A perfect blend of tradition and creativity in the kitchen — we've been here twice and we're planning on more dinners at this amazing restaurant
